The innovation gap

It's hard to build what's next while supporting what's live

Your developers are busy fixing bugs, shipping updates and keeping your current software running for the people who depend on it. When a new idea comes along, it competes with all of that, and new ideas usually lose. Some never get started. Others get built in spare moments and never quite reach the finish line.

The GTEL Technology Incubator is a dedicated software team that works alongside yours. We take your idea through design, prototyping and development, and you approve each step before we move to the next one. Your team keeps your current product on track, and your new idea finally gets the focus it needs.

How we turn an idea into working software

Every project moves through clear stages, with a decision point before full development begins.

01

Idea & discovery

We learn the problem you're solving and who will use the software, then define the core features that matter most.

02

Design

We map user journeys, design the screens (UI/UX) and plan the architecture, data and integrations.

03

Prototype

We build a clickable prototype or proof of concept that your stakeholders and users can try for themselves.

04

Your decision

You review the prototype, estimate and plan. Approve it, refine it, or stop, with no obligation to continue.

05

Build & test

Once approved, we develop the production software in short iterations, with regular demos, quality assurance and security testing.

06

Launch & hand-off

We deploy, train your users, and either hand the code and documentation to your team or support the product for you.

Why an incubator

Innovation without derailing your roadmap

Protect your product team

Your developers keep supporting and improving the software your users rely on today.

See it before you fund it

A working prototype makes the decision easy for leadership, budget holders and future users.

A complete team, on demand

Design, development, testing and project management, without hiring or reassigning staff.

Built to your standards

Secure, documented code using the technologies your team supports, so the hand-off is seamless.

FAQ

Questions about the Incubator

Do we have to commit to building the full product?

No. Full development only starts after you've reviewed the prototype and approved the plan. If the idea doesn't prove out, you can stop with no obligation to continue.

How much of our team's time will this take?

Very little. We'll need input from the people who understand the problem and regular check-ins at demos and decision points. The design, coding, testing and documentation are on us.

Who owns the software and the code?

You do. When the project is complete, we hand over the source code, documentation and training, or our team can maintain and support the software for you on an ongoing basis.

Can you build on our existing technology?

Yes. We design new applications to fit your environment and integrate with the systems you already use, so your team can support them long-term.

Can a prototype help us secure budget or grant funding?

Yes. A working prototype is often the most persuasive way to show leadership, boards and funders exactly what an investment will deliver.

Have a software idea your team doesn't have time to build?

Tell us about it. We'll help you shape the concept and show you what it would take to make it real.
